Altitude 375m
South West Facing

Situation and Character
A small outcrop with a shallow cave at the left end and a much larger one at
the south end. The rock under the overhang is soft in places.
Approach
Where the main forest path turns west towards Ravensheugh a minor path
continues to the south, ultimately leading to Selby’s Cove. Follow this for
approximately 600m gently descending a shallow slope towards a small stream. The
crag is just above the path on the left. If you reach the stream you have past
the crag, but will see it if you turn and face north!
The Problems
1. V2
SS. to the aręte at the left end of the roof. Continue to the rounded
finish.
2. V5
1.5 m to the right, follow holds to and over the roof.
3. V3
From the left side of the cave climb to the roof. Cross this via a wart-like
hold over the lip.
4. V2
2m to the right, reach the roof, traverse left along the lip and finish at
the same place as the previous problem. Beware brittle holds under the roof.
5. V2
Traverse the back of the cave at the highest level to the right end and
return at the lower level, or vice versa.
10m to the right is a deep, dry cave.
6. V1
A large crack separates the roof from the left wall traverse the crack line
from the back of the cave to the mouth, pull round the lip and finish up the
wide crack above. Using a head torch or a pre-inspection of the crack for
roosting bats and creepy-crawlies is considered to be cheating!
