Teesdale Leisure Centre is situated in the market town of Barnard Castle in the heart of the beautiful Durham Dales next to the GlaxoSmithKline factory. The climbing wall opened in 2008 and is situated in the Teesdale Leisure Centre. It has a good variety of routes, includes slab, overhangs of different types, rock type wall and cave system. New routes are added as people need them. It's good value for money and is about to be expanded and unlike Aycliffe, the temp is good too. Always found the crowd who go very friendly and if you're stuck for a belay then they will offer. Also has auto belays if you prefer. The routes are graded using French grades and goes up to 7c.
